January Sewing Group Dates and Cuddle Up Day Sale!

National Cuddle Up Day is January 6th!  In honor of such a fun day and because it is so cold outside, we are offering all our Cuddle (Minky) fabrics and kits at 15% off for the month of January.  You can order thru the website without using a code and still get Free Shipping on a $75.00 purchase.  Or come into the shop and cuddle it in person while making your selection(s).  Unlike a lot of fleece, Minky fabric is easy to work with and ever so soft!  We carry Minky from Shannon, Northcott, Benartex, Moda  and Timeless Treasures.

Sewing Groups at the Shop - We welcome you to come back or attend a meeting for the first time. 

Just Sew With Us - A time set aside for hand or machine work on sewing, quilting, knitting or whatever your textile interest is.
Mondays: January , 3^rd, 10^th, 17^th, 24^th, 31st

WOOL Workers Club - Join fellow sewists who enjoy the feel of wool, share your knowledge or pick up new ideas. Beginners to advanced wool workers are welcome.
1st Thursday – January 6th
10:30am to 1pm

Comfort Quilters - Lap quilts are made to give primarily to the local Veterans Affair Office for distribution to veterans of northern lower Michigan. 
2nd Thursday – January 13th
10:30am to 4pm

Hand Work Day - Whether you knit, sew, embroider or make things with another hand work technique consider coming in this day to meet with other like minded folks.
3rd Tuesday – January 18th
10:00am to 12:30pm

Patriotic Quilters of Gaylord - This group has made 225+ twin sized quilts to distribute as QOV quilts to local veterans who are presented them at the monthly meetings.  A big Thank You goes out to the long arm quilters who provide the quilting.

The January class filled up so fast that we are offering this class again.  Jen's samples are now hanging at the shop and are quite lovely.  She used a 10" square set of  Spring Promise by Artisan Batiks for Robert Kaufman.  There are also samples using 1800's style fabrics and another one made from Effervescent!  Learn the basics and pick up tips on making easy Pineapple blocks with the Top Piecing Method of paper piecing which does not require you to flip and sew!
