Cost: $16.00 per month plus supplies

This class is designed for the beginner quilter who has dabbled a bit but would like to get more familiar with different blocks and how they are put together.  Building upon your basic knowledge, you'll learn the next steps.  This is a class that meets once a month and each month you will be working on a different quilt block.  At the end of 12 months, you'll have 12 blocks ready to assemble in a layout of your choice.

Binding - the basics and more with Delphine
Thursday, January 26th 1:00pm to 4:00pm
Cost - $17.00

Does adding the binding to your quilt get delayed because you just don't want to do it?  Delphine enjoys adding the binding because it means the quilt is almost ready to use and a finished quilt is a good thing.  She will lead you from cutting straight grain and bias binding after deciding how wide to make it and why there are differences in binding widths.  Then you will add binding in a variety of manners to quilt sandwiches so that you have samples to take home with you plus written directions.  While all the binding will be applied by machine some will be finished by hand and others by machine.

Ham & Cheese Sliders

12
slider buns (Hawaiian rolls are recommended)
12 slices deli ham
8 slices Swiss cheese
2 tablespoons mayonnaise
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1/2 cup butter melted
1/2 tablespoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce2 tablespoons poppy seeds

  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Cut slider buns in half and place the bottoms in a greased casserole dish.
  • Mix together mayo and Dijon mustard then spread over the bottom buns.
  • Place the ham on the slider buns, overlapping the pieces.
  • Place the Swiss cheese on the ham, and then place the tops of the slider buns.
  • In a small bowl, combine melted butter, onion powder, Worcestershire sauce, and poppy seeds.
  • Pour the butter mixture over the sliders and cover the casserole dish with aluminum foil. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the foil and continue baking for 10 more minutes, or until the cheese melts.
  • Remove from the oven. Use a sharp knife to cut the sliders apart. Serve warm and enjoy!

Jen made these for her family get together and quadrupled the recipe.  They were gone in a flash!
