Blushing Blooms - Block of the Month

April 2024 to December 2024

Fee: $30.99 per month

Our beautiful and elegant sample is now hanging in the shop!  This sampler-style queen quilt features 12" blocks set on point, with custom setting triangles and elegant sashing to tie all the elements together.  Fabrics are beautifully colored in rich burgundy, dusty pinks, taupe, and off-white.  Each month for 9 months, you'll receive a section of the pattern and a package of fabrics ready for you to create a part of the quilt. Wooly Stitchers Club

Love working with wool and using different embroidery stitches to embellish your projects?  Bring your current work in progress and join this group of ladies who LOVE working with wool.  Maybe you can learn a new stitch or two!  The club meets monthly on the 2nd Wednesday of the month.

Patriotic Quilters

This group meets the 2nd and 3rd Thursday each month to work on quilts for veterans in the area.  If you want to join us but can't stay for the entire day, that's ok!  All fabrics are provided, and all the cutting is done for you.  Bring your machine and thread, and help work on these well deserved donation quilts. The group has now completed over 300 quilts because of volunteers like you!

A day to work on whatever project you want to work on!  Bring your supplies, machine if necessary, and join the group for some sewcialization!  We have irons and cutting spaces.  Bring money for lunch...the group usually orders lunch from one of the surrounding restaurants.

Dresden Plate Table Runner

Come and spend a few hours at Compass Star making a wonderfully fun Dresden Plate table runner. Don’t be intimidated by the idea that it involves hand sewing, because it does not!!! Bring your machine to class and Leslie Peterson will show you how to construct perfect little “petals”.  At the end of class Leslie will present a trunkshow of Dresden Quilts that will be sure to spark your creativity with all of the possibilities of this design.

Your class fee includes: a kit with ALL fabrics for the project shown (including the backing), a Dresden ruler, thread and a turning tool.

Class is limited to 6 students, so sign up early!

NEW DATES!!! If you've already taken a beginner quilt class and are ready for the next step in learning how to quilt, look no further!  This class is designed for the beginner quilter who would like to build their knowledge base.  You'll learn the next steps in piecing various blocks and make a sampler quilt at the same time.   Class meets once a month and each month you will be working on a different quilt block.  Examples include the Bear Paw, the Snail's Trail, and Cottage Garden.  At the end of 12 months, you'll have 12 blocks ready to assemble in a layout of your choice.  Come join Jen as she shares her love of quilting with you.
