Hawaiian Way Applique with Leslie

In the class, you will discuss "four" methods of construction and designing a Hawaiian quilt.  When you apply all four methods, you will discover your own unique design!  You can choose your method of applique to learn: applique by machine, needle turn applique, or blanket stitch applique.

Beginner Foundation Paper Piecing with Jen

Interested in learning foundation paper piecing?  This beginner friendly class will teach you the basics on using the add-a-quarter ruler and the "flip" method of sewing. You will be making Log Cabin blocks, using your scraps, strips or yardage.  Jen Metzger will also share with you several time-saving techniques when constructing this block.

Beginner Needle Turn Applique with Karen

In this class Karen will teach you the basic needle turn applique method.  Applique blocks and borders can enhance and elevate your pieced quilt tops.  The advantage of hand applique is the freedom of individual design.  No worries that your piecing isn't exact.  A flower or a leaf can hide a multitude of flaws!  Plus, hand applique is very portable. 

Your kit fee includes the heart block which will be basted and ready to stitch, needles and threads.

If you've already taken a beginner quilt class and are ready for the next step in learning how to quilt, look no further!  This class is designed for the beginner quilter who would like to build their knowledge base.  You'll learn the next steps in piecing various blocks and make a sampler quilt at the same time.   Class meets once a month and each month you will be working on a different quilt block.  Examples include the Bear Paw, the Snail's Trail, and Cottage Garden.  At the end of 12 months, you'll have 12 blocks ready to assemble in a layout of your choice.  Come join Jen as she shares her love of quilting with you.
